Prime Insurance Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven J. Ogella as Chief Risk Officer (CRO). Steven assumes this role following years of distinguished leadership within Prime, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Legal Operations.
In this role, Steven will oversee Prime’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework and strategy, including risk identification, assessment, governance, and compliance, reinforcing Prime’s commitment to disciplined risk management and its mission to deliver flexible, reliable specialty insurance solutions nationwide.
Since joining Prime Insurance Company in 2014, Steven has held progressive leadership roles across legal operations, human resources, compliance, and regulatory affairs.

Steven holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from Syracuse University College of Law and brings more than a decade of legal operations, compliance, and human resources leadership experience within Prime Insurance Company. His deep understanding of organizational risk, regulatory frameworks, and specialty insurance markets positions him strongly to lead Prime’s evolving risk management initiatives.
He has played a key role in the development and enhancement of Prime’s enterprise risk management practices, supporting board-level risk oversight, regulatory engagement, and long-term strategic planning.
